MICHAEL MAY Is professor of engineering and economic systems and operations research, emeritus. He is former co-director of the Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC), which is part of Stanford's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI). Before coming to Stanford in 1990, he spent 30 years at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in several capacities, including director. His research specialties are nuclear technology and electricity generation in China.
